Market research
mei 9, 2008
Talking for two hours about a dry sausage, that’s what is called market research. Marketing is all about image and perception. The market research bureau, which I work for from time to time, is specialised in organising panel discussions with conscious consumers. Last evening the subject was: a new dry sausage. The first group consisted of six women, all of them divorced and alone and full of man-hatred. The second group consisted of six men, all of them divorced but remarried and happy new fathers. The women were very serious about the dry sausage. The men, on the contrary, were perfectly able to apply the theory of relativity on the sausage-image problem.
It was midnight when I left the office. Soft warm southern wind was carressing my face. On my way home I decided to write a poem about the explosion of female beauty in may.
Thank you sun for all these sudden dreams in our streets, squares and riverbanks.
